There should not be over – eating, though. It is ok if fats comprise about thirty per cent of your daily ration. At the same time, the problem of consuming fats is not that easy. Fats are not all the same. There are saturated fats which are not of any good to your organism. They may lead to heart and vascular problems, as well as to high cholesterol level. Harmful fats are in butter, milk, dairy products, and some others. All of those are harmful for your heart. But there are good, friendly to our organism fats. They are called unsaturated and could be found in vegetable oils and fish liver oil. So the intake of peanut, olive or sunflower oil is beneficial. Fats of this type do not contain many calories, and are able to fulfill our energy storage.
Another great source of energy for everyone is food rich with proteins. Lots of proteins are in eggs, fish, nuts, cheese, beans, poultry. Here it is important to note, that various kinds of nuts are great sources of fiber as well.
Except for carbohydrates, proteins and fats all of us must have fruits and vegetables in their diet, no matter if it is diabetic or not. They give us the vitamins and minerals that we need. However, there are some fruits and vegetables that contain large amounts of carbohydrates and, therefore, should be limited for those who suffer from diabetics. For instance, potato, bananas, grapes, and mango are not the best choice for diabetic patients.
